You're One Shoulder Move Away From Taking Divots Like A Pro!

In this video Mike Granato & Shaun Webb from Athletic Motion Golf break down the single biggest reason golfers don't take a divot: where the lead shoulder is in the downswing. Get that shoulder in the right spot at impact (forward of and past where it started in the backswing) and you can unload your wrist angles correctly and bottom out in the right place. Get it wrong, and you're stuck tilting back at the top, sneaking in a flip or a scoop, and living on the bottom of the clubface all day. We use the Swing Coach app to track the lead shoulder at impact in real time, first showing the common fault (the shoulder shooting up too early), then walking through the fix: shifting forward as you unwind instead of tilting back, keeping roughly a 90 degree spine angle into the hitting zone, and delivering the club with a "covered flip" instead of dragging the handle and twisting it closed. Shaun shares his own years-long battle with a corkscrewing manual release that made his long irons nearly impossible to get airborne, and how this move fixed it. If you've never had to clean your clubs after a round, this one's for you. 🎁 FREE Training Here: 🎁 Make your BEST swing your NORMAL swing: https://athleticmotiongolf.com/consistency 👉 FREE TWO-WEEK TRIAL To The Best Golf Practice App Ever!👇 https://athleticmotiongolf.com/swing-coach Chatpers: 00:00 Why some golfers never take a divot 00:27 The lead shoulder's own swing path 00:44 The reference dot drill 01:07 Brian Manzella's "pull back, run up, jump" 01:27 Why golfers don't want to lower the arms 01:46 The "lazy Susan" body shift in transition 02:09 The tilt-back fault (and the flip it causes) 02:31 Why some players drive it great but can't hit irons 02:48 The driver is different (bottom stays behind the ball) 03:04 Nothing feels better than a flushed iron 03:24 Why golfers get lost without a plan to improve 03:42 Moving the ball back just feeds the fault 03:49 Setting up Swing Coach on the lead shoulder 04:06 The common fault: shoulder shoots up too early 04:33 The fix: shifting forward, not tilting 04:55 Slowing it down to 5 mph to feel it 05:23 Angle of attack vs low point height 05:40 Where is your low point, before or after the ball? 05:54 Turning around the shirt tag, not tipping back 06:16 Why sliding the hips isn't the answer 06:33 Keeping the spine near 90 degrees into impact 06:57 Getting to impact without tipping back 07:16 The "covered flip" explained 07:36 Building the speed back up 07:49 Shaun's corkscrew release story 08:04 Why it couldn't get long irons airborne 08:24 Higher, straighter, less face-to-path deviation 08:43 The result: shaft lean and the shoulder in the zone 09:20 Practicing bad ideas will make you better at them 09:41 The good news and bad news about what you're "trying" to do 10:10 Use Swing Coach, go slow first, then build speed 10:28 Get the free 2-week trial #golf #golfswing #golftips
