Why Getting Steep in the Backswing Forces the Club to Drop Out of the Sky! Starts on plane... then gets steep in the backswing... then steep coming down... then the club drops out of the sky and the handle shoots up. Dead off the toe. It's one of the most common swing patterns AMG sees in lessons. The camera has to be low through the hands to actually see what's happening on the elbow plane line. The fix is depth in the backswing... not a late lift trying to get steep. Wider trail arm, more depth, and the club doesn't come out of the top as steep. Rotate through and the handle stays down where it belongs.
