Despite being an excellent golfer, Iona was struggling with thin iron shots, poor compression and an inability to take a divot after the ball. The data revealed why: she was hitting two degrees up on her irons while swinging too far from the inside. Rather than filling her head with technical swing thoughts, Piers and Andy gave Iona two simple external cues. By focusing on the shot she wanted to create and striking the ground beyond a line, her body naturally organised the movement she needed. The result was a remarkable change. Iona moved from hitting up on the ball to delivering the club three to four degrees down, producing much stronger ball-then-turf contact.
